BETH WILLIAMS BIOGRAPHY
"Beth's songs are so . . . innocent . . .
experienced . . . beguiling . . . insightful. Whew, I'm
running out of adjectives. Her name and the title of this
album should be spoken by every record reviewer in the
country.

Marcus - TAYLOR GUITARS
Soaring vocals, artful lyrics, an engaging smile and the
ability to closely connect with her audience are the
powerful combination that give Texas singer songwriter Beth
Williams the extra edge which spells success. "Yes, she is a
wonderful singer, beautiful voice ..... But there's
something more. This songwriter does "message music", she
makes the spirit soar..I love it!" says KACQ/KCYL RADIO. Her
unique approach and creative abilities as a songwriter &
guitarist set Williams apart as she builds an eclectic
bridge between folk, Americana, country, blues, pop and
roots music. "Beth is blessed with a beautiful singing voice
that has the dynamics to go from a whisper to the full power
of cathedral bells." says Austin Americana.
Recently relocated to Colorado, Williams has been a
professional singer-songwriter since 1973. Three of her
songs charted in BILLBOARD and CASHBOX magazines, she was
nominated by the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC as "Best New
Female Vocalist of the Year", "Best Female Performer" by the
INDEPENDENT NEWS and "Best Independent Female Vocalist" by
CASHBOX. Beth's album IN THIS OLD HOUSE was voted one of
Austin's Top Albums and she was the winner of Music Austin's
Best Albums Award. HUMBLE TIME RADIO SHOW nominated Beth for
"Outstanding Female Songwriter" and "Outstanding Female
Performance." Her songs have also charted in the European
charts.
With 6 CDs available on her own record label, Willow Creek
Records, Beth has been able to take control of her own
musical destiny and direction. Her original "I Like Dogs"
song was recorded by New York singer songwriter Marie Burns
and SW Texas University released her song "A Ladder I Can
Climb" on their Travelin' Texas II CD. She has also had her
songs released on three Westwood Music Group CDs, and on 2
Rockin' At the Barn CDs, while "A Ladder I Can Climb" was in
the Jane White Movie Soundtrack produced in Hollywood,
Calif.
Jim Beal with the S.A. EXPRESS & NEWS writes "No sappy
writer, no overt heartstring tugger, Williams instead is the
kind of person who walks on the sunny side, uses common
sense, sees the glass as half full & finds the silver lining
in dark clouds"., while Buzz Marcos of TAYLOR GUITARS adds
"Beth’s songs are innocent... experienced...
beguiling...insightful... Her name and the title of this
album should be spoken by every record reviewer in the
country." Legendary producer LLOYD MAINES says "Besides the
obvious, great singer and guitar player, Beth Williams bares
her soul in her songs and performance. This is a brave and
good thing."
Born on Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, the nomadic
life of the military led Beth's family to Pakistan, the
Philippines, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Okinawa twice, all
before she turned seventeen. Between tours of duty, the
family flew back to the USA, and drove from California to
Georgia to visit relatives. During these hot, dusty drives,
Beth recalls her dad singing to help pass the time. She
believes it was the comforting sound of her fathers
resonating voice, and mothers gift for playing piano that
instilled her love of music early on.
Beth's passion for singing and songwriting began as a child.
While living on Peshawar AFB in Pakistan at the age of 13,
Beth happened upon a lone GI sitting on the bleachers of a
deserted baseball field, singing and playing a guitar. Her
destiny was sealed as she ran home to tell her parents she
wanted to sing and play guitar. Her parents bought her a
$10.00 guitar at the PX later that same year when they were
relocated to Okinawa. While there, Beth entered the Talent
Show at Kubasaki High School and won First Place singing an
original tune, My Lords Song.
Her family moved to San Antonio, TX at the beginning of her
senior year of high school. Immediately after graduating
from John Jay High, she began her musical career leading
music for many Christian groups in San Antonio as well as
invited to sing at many of the local San Antonio churches.
Enlarging her Musical Rainbow, Williams then began her
fulltime musical career, delighting Texas audiences, touring
Central Texas, military bases and overseas. After some years
of struggle, Beth Williams' musical endeavors seemed to be
paying off as she began to make her mark in the commercial
field finding her songs in the National Charts right in the
middle of Steve Warner and Roseanne Cash.
Just as her career was heading mainstream she began moving
in the opposite direction with her songwriting and musical
abilities. Finding the obligation of touring non-stop to be
more than she wanted to deal with at that time, Beth came
home to the Hill Country where she could combine her
artistry and family life. Williams set about the task of
becoming even more independent by starting her own Willow
Creek Record label and several years later, taking her
artistic independence one step further she opened a small
ProTools recording studio, Hill Country Recording plus
Video. "I decided to learn to become proficeint in recording
myself and to learn to create videos of myself for
promotional purposes." Not only is Beth a singer,
songwriter, musician and record-company entrepreneur but she
also gives voice and guitar lessons, records others in her
studio and often shoots videos of other musicians which she
then uploads to one of her YouTube Channels.
Her reputation as a excellent vocalist and harmony singer
has brought Williams clients from all over the world who
send her tracks via the Internet to add backup vocals to
their projects or sing lead on their demos. After adding her
parts, Beth sends the wav files back to the client via the
Internet who in turn has them mixed.
Williams is also a part of the touring singer songwriter
duo,
WALLACE & Williams. She and Stephen Paul Wallace
together have a sound as timeless as their story. Plans are
currently in the works to go back into the studio to work on
an album together.
