Thanks for joining me here. Since I’m still off Facebook and Instagram, I’m happy to have this Blog as an outlet to share what’s happening in Beth world.
The weather has been wonderful here in Colorado so I’m back to walking outside with the dogs. Only doing 2 miles so far. I miss when I was walking 5-6 miles. Hope to get back to doing that.
One of my favorite things after walking or hiking is the feel of cool breeze on hot feet. Nothing quite like it. The little things in life we often overlook can bring so much satisfaction and joy. Much to be grateful for if we take the time. Trying to do more of that. Being #grateful.
Have just finished recording #321 of the Beth Williams Indie Americana Songwriter Show. It’s rendering as I write this. Rendering a show is kind of like baking a cake. You mix all the ingredients together and then put the cake in the oven. With a radio show, you mix all the talking, song introductions,
music and then it “renders” so it’s one audio file. After this I make a Cue file (So the names of the artists and song titles will show as it plays ) and then upload the Mp3, Cue File, SongList and Show Photo to a holding folder in Dropbox. Then each Wednesday I transfer the new show to the current show Dropbox where the 70+ terrestrial and internet stations have access so they can download and play it on their station! About FB. It’s been very freeing to not be on Facebook. Seems strange to me to still feel this way, but I have so much more time to get things done. As a recovered alcoholic (Sober since Nov.11, 1989) and a former cigarette smoker (3 1/2 packs a day when I finally quit), I have a totally addictive personality. I drank too much, smoked to much, used to curse like a sailor back in the day ( yes, I quit cursing years ago too!), and I was spending too much time on FB. Maybe after some time away, I can try again. For now it’s just You Tube and writing about things here.

And then there’s my new Green Screen which I’m super excited about. I’m trying to get back into
recording videos each week, and it’s so fun working with a green screen because you can put different backgrounds in the video. I’ve used a 5′ x7′ screen before but it was too small. I found a 8’x 10′ screen at B&H Photo Video and it’s PERFECT! There’s a bag you can store it in, but I decided to velcro it to the hall wall so I can easily pull it down when I need it and there’s also less chance of it wrinkling if it’s hanging.
