Eyes Forward

Well, geez!  I deactivated my FB page May 6th and just found out it was only offline for 7 days.  FB automatically re-activated without my knowledge. I'm thinking I hit a wrong setting when I did the deactivation.  But no worries.  I'm still on my Facebook "fast."  I haven't been on FB since May 6th other than long enough to hop on a few minutes ago and deactivate it (again) until I"m ready (if ever) to return.

"Out of sight, out of mind". Do you think that's true? Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. Some things you can never get over no matter how hard you try. Nonetheless, keep thine eyes forward.

On another note...There are some things I love about getting older. Although there are a few things I haven't been able to let go of (yet), for the most part, life feels like a "free fall".  Just do the next right thing. Literally. Let go of expectations and simply accept what is. I think that comes with getting older.  What's the point of fighting things / people (including ourselves) and situations we can't change? In the words of Sir Paul McCartney, Let it be.

Or you can live life like this:

Take for example people in the music business who are obsessed with wanting to be at the top and are willing to push to the front of the line to get there.

I know some indie (independent) songwriters who are absolutely desperate to be "successful".  I watch as they claw their way up the ladder, focused on that one thing. The clawing is usually in the form of  "Let me see who's further ahead so I can befriend them and use them to get a little closer to the top." And yes, that gets them closer and indeed, sometimes gets them right up to the VERY top.

Kind of reminds me of my moms  GREED GIRL FRIED CHICKEN STORY.

I  love what my friend Vicki once told me:  “Getting what you want with integrity.” To me part of that means not using people or targeting who's going to be your friend based how how much you can manipulate them to help you push to the front of the line.  I do see it quite often in the music business. I think that's a main reason I lay low.  Never could play that game.

In other completely unrelated news... I've always loved my Distant Land song.

"Sometimes life is bittersweet
The things you lose you find a way to keep
Love's that way so it seems
No matter where you are,
you can hold someone in your dreams"

About my You Tube Channel.  I'm still adding original songs and cover songs. I receive many requests for more yodeling videos so I did this little "short" last night. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for joining me here and as always... Yodel on!

Wishing you well and sending love from Colorado xoxo Tater
